Rachel Truhlsen

Founder and Managing Attorney

Rachel Truhlsen has been a licensed attorney since 1995. After graduating from law school, Rachel worked for an estate planning firm and a general practice law firm before launching her own estate planning practice in 1997. Over the years, the firm has grown and evolved, guided by Rachel’s passion for service excellence and long-lasting client relationships. Today, Truhlsen & Vogel Estate Planning is one of the most respected estate planning and elder law firms in the region, and the only firm in Nebraska to offer Life Care Planning. Founder Rachel Truhlsen is one of the few VA accredited attorneys in Nebraska.

Katherine Vogel

Katherine Vogel

Katie Vogel is an estate planning attorney with a longstanding commitment to excellence for Nebraska families. 

​

After growing up in Gretna, Katie’s academic career was filled with honors, starting with the University of Nebraska Honors Program. She studied English, biology, and psychology, graduating with honors. While at the University of Nebraska College of Law Katie was a member of the Nebraska Law Review and the Order of the Coif national legal honor society. She was awarded the Burton Award for Legal Achievement for distinguished legal writing for her published work on the legal analysis of the rights of parents. Katie’s writing has been published in Nebraska Lawyer and Nebraska Law Review.

Katie graduated law school in 2008 with high distinction. She was a judicial clerk for the Justice William Connolly of the Nebraska Supreme Court before launching her career in private practice with a focus on serving families and businesses.  Katie has extensive expertise in estate and gift planning, probate and estate administration, and trust administration.  She is also experienced in advising business clients on issues from operations to the division of business assets upon the dissolution of a business or relationship.
